I’ve mentioned this on earlier blog posts and it bears repeating:

Jane and David are an example of just what we’re trying to achieve.
As most of you may already know, I’ve been a real estate agent for 35 years and have had a team for almost that long. Back in the early 90’s, we received a sign call from Jane on one of my listings in Ajax. We had one of our team’s agents show her the home, she loved it and submitted an offer, which was accepted. We ended up with two happy clients – Jane as the buyer and our sellers were also happy that we were able to find a good, qualified buyer for them in a very slow market (actually, it was a recession!).
Over the years, I would touch base with Jane to give her market updates and asked her to call me if she ever had questions for me. In 2006, Jane took me up on that offer and called me to say she was getting ready to retire soon and they would like to downsize to a condo. I had one of our team’s agents show her condos in Pickering, Ajax & Whitby. We also added Jane and David to our custom Homehunter program. They looked at lots of condo apartments from Pickering to Ajax to Whitby on and off for the next 2 years. Eventually, we found them the ideal condo apartment in a great building in Whitby near the lake, which they submitted an offer on and was successful.
We then had to put their home up for sale. Since I was the listing agent when they purchased it, I already had the room measurements.
However, they were ideal sellers since they had done a lot of really nice updates to the home over the years. I noted each update and reno along with corresponding dates in the MLS listing. It sold for 99% of the asking price in a down market! They were very happy that both the sale and purchase went so smoothly.
